Crisis Intervention

For students who are at risk of harming themselves or having a similar significant crisis during office hours (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday), please contact us at 496-9370 or come directly to our office on the second floor of the Student Health and Counseling Building. Please tell the receptionist that it is an emergency. In an emergency during evening or weekend hours, call 496-HELP (496-4357). There is a therapist on-call 24-hours a day.

Consultation

Counselors are available for consultation to bishops, faculty, student groups, wards/stakes, etc. by contacting our office at 496-9370. Students requesting to interview a counselor for a class assignment should email our director, Reed Stoddard, and include all pertinent details (purpose of the interview, deadline dates, amount of time needed for the interview, questions, etc.). We prefer to conduct such interviews in student groups and via email when possible.

Mental Health Medication Management

The Counseling Center has a full-time non-psychiatric physician on staff who can meet most student's medication needs.  More complex medication needs will be referred to a psychiatrist in the Idaho Falls community.  There is a $10 fee to meet with the Counseling Center physician.  If you miss the appointment without contacting our office in advance, you will be charged $20.  All fees will be billed directly to your student account.  The Counseling Center does not accept insurance or bill any insurance providers.
