Merit Badge Pow Wow: Main Info

The Grand Teton Council has made the decision that in order for them to support the BYU-Idaho Scout Pow Wow, it has to be a two-day program. The 2010 Pow Wow will be scheduled on Saturdays, October 30, 2010, and November 13, 2010.
We will be located in the Taylor Building foyer this year, if you have questions. Please come prepared with your schedule, MB Requirement sheets, pen or pencil, paper, and MB booklets. NOTE: You must bring your requirement sheets with you, as we will not have extras printed this year.
A flag ceremony will be held at 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, October 30 in the Taylor chapel and cultural halls. After the flag ceremony, please go directly to your first class.
What is Merit Badge Pow Wow?
This program offers Scouts the opportunity to work on one or two merit badges of their choice. Scouts may choose from 35 different merit badges, including 10 of the 12 badges required for the Eagle Scout Award. Merit Badges being offered are:
When does the Merit Badge Pow Wow take place?
Merit Badge Pow Wow will take place on Saturdays, October 30, 2010, and November 13, 2010.
Participation Requirements
Scouts age 11-18 are invited to participate in Merit Badge Pow Wow.
We ask that participants come prepared each Saturday with:
- the MB requirement sheets that have been printed off (see above links)
- paper for note taking
- a pencil or pen
- any items needed to show the counselors.
Cost Information
Merit Badge Pow Wow is $15 per scout. In the registration process, you will see that this is broken down into two costs of $7.50 for each of the two merit badges you sign up for (making a total of $15 that you pay) or in the case of registering for one of the five merit badges that take the full time, the cost is the full $15. This cost may be paid by a Master Card or Visa. We do not except Discover or American Express.
Registration Information
- Registration will begin on Thursday, August 26, 2010, at 8 a.m.
- Registration deadline is Thursday, October 14, 2010, at 5 p.m.
- Registration will be on a first come, first served basis.
Note: Parents or legal guardians must register their scout, as a parental waiver must be agreed to in order for the boy to participate.
