Badger Creek Cabin Rental

The Badger Creek cabin (formerly the Caretaker's Cabin) is a three bedroom/one bathroom log cabin located in Tetonia, Idaho, on BYU-Idaho's Outdoor Learning Center property (Badger Creek). Improvements have been made and we are ready to bring a relaxing vacation spot to you and your family. With a sleeping capacity of ten (with addional sleeping bag space), the cabin is ideal for family vacations.

Bedroom Configuration:

Three bedrooms 

Main floor bedroom: Queen size bed

Upstairs bedroom: Queen size bed

Second Upstairs bedroom: Set of bunk beds and four twin beds

The cabin sleeps ten adults comfortably, with additional room for sleeping bags.

Items Not Provided at the Cabin

All other items (e.g. food, specialty cooking items, outdoor equipment, etc.) will need to be provided by those renting the cabin. Because there are not guest services or onsite staff provided with the rental of this cabin, it is important that you plan ahead and come prepared.

 

Reservations

Reservations are made on a first-come, first-serve basis and must be secured with a non-refundable deposit of $75 (goes toward cabin rental cost). The balance must be paid two weeks before the scheduled cabin stay. If the balance is not paid, the cabin will  be made available to the public again for those dates. All cancellations of the scheduled cabin within a week of the scheduled stay are considered non-refundable. Please call Priscilla Hendricks at 496-2337, to schedule this cabin.

 

Cost

Total cost is $130 per night. The $75 deposit must be paid by VIsa or Mastercard or check or cash at the time the reservations are made. The remaining amount is due no later than two weeks before arrival.  Please remember to return the liability waivers at the same time final payment is made. You may mail them to the address below or deliver them to the Continuing Education office. 

 

Check-In

The cabin will be available starting at 3 p.m. on the day of  your scheduled stay. On the counter, you will see a list of guidelines to assist you with your stay, including a guide to the cabin, a cleaning checklist, a map of Badger Creek, and a list of local attractions.

 

Cleanup and Check-out

Check-out time is 11 a.m. Those renting the cabin are responsible for cleanup, as well as changing the sheets and towels. A dirty linen hamper will be provided, as well as clean linen. A checklist of cleaning items, as well as cleaning supplies will be provided. Please make sure during your stay that the front yard of the cabin is kept neat and free of personal belongings.

 

Rental Guidelines

1. Parking--There is a two car driveway next to the cabin, which is reserved for those renting the cabin, as well as a small parking area close to the cabin for other vehicles. Because Badger Creek runs other programs throughout the year, personal vehicles may not be driven through the facilities.
2. Activities/Other Groups-- We invite you to enjoy hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and cross country skiing,on the ranch as well as local attractions and the national forests in the Teton Valley area. Motorized vehicles such as quads, motorcycles, skooters, and snowmobiles are not to be used on the ranch, but may be stored in the parking lot near  the cabin. During different times of the year, various groups and the activities associated with them will be happening. This will not interfere with your stay; however, you may hear or see the groups during different times of the day. We are not able to run the ropes course for those renting the cabin, as this is for groups who have reserved this service. We do not provide workshops for this cabin rental.
3. Available Dates--The cabin is available for check-in Monday thourgh Saturday. The cabin is not available for check-in on Sundays. If you are leaving on a Sunday, the cabin will be inspected on Monday for cleanliness and damages, and any addional charges will be billed to you.
4. Damages--A cleaning inspection is done betwen each cabin rental. Any damages incurred as a result of abuse of the cabin or theft will be charged directly to the renter.
5. Liability Waivers--All those staying on  the ranch are required to sign a liability waiver. Those under 18 years of age must have the waiver signed by a parent/guardian. Winter Use--In the winter the ranch becomes a cross country ski oasis. We do ask that you not walk on the groomed trails in order to make your ski experience an excellent one.
