| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1. Acquire manual palpation skills of livestock reproductive tracts. 2. Use ultrasonography for reproductive end-points. 3. Identify major contributing factors to high reproductive efficiency in livestock. 4. Understand the most common methods of estrus synchronization in cattle and horses. 5. Learn basic breeding soundness exam principles for livestock males. 6. Understand basic principles of superovulation, embryo collection, grading, freezing, bisection and sexing in cattle. 7. Explore various uses of reproductive biotechnology for scientific and economic gain. 8. Increase research and writing skills using CSE format to explore reproductive questions, technology advances or new applications. |
