| DESCRIPTION: | A seminar situation is utilized for the study of woodwind literature. Students meet once per week where they are given assignments and present information. Written copies of all student presentations are given to each participant and collected in a notebook for future reference. Studies concentrate on solo and small ensemble literature within the following guidelines and categories: pedagogical application, i.e. appropriateness for age or developmental level and elements within a composition that may teach specific fundamental or advanced techniques; chamber music that may be similarly useful; and standard repertoire of which students should be aware. | ||

| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1. Aware of music literature specific to a discipline within the student's own applied music requirements either from lessons or master classes. 2. Learn pedagogical applications for standard solo and chamber repertoire. 3. Become aware of how to make quality judgments concerning music and be prepared to continue to develop on own initiative. |
