| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1. Demonstrate knowledge of human development and diversity and show ability to relate that knowledge to instructional strategies that support intellectual, social, and personal development. 2. Demonstrate understanding of multiple instructional strategies and the need for such to develop students' critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills. 3. Demonstrate understanding of individual and group motivation and behavior and how to use that understanding to create a learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation. 4. Be able to foster inquiry, collaboration, and supportive interaction in and beyond the classroom. 5. Be able to explain why effective teachers are, of necessity, reflective practitioners who demonstrate a commitment to professional standards and are continuously engaged in purposeful mastery of the art and science of teaching. 6. Demonstrate understanding of how assessment and instruction are interrelated. |
