| CONTENT AND TOPICS: | This course provides a geographical approach to the study of the physical environment (e.g. weather, climate, vegetation, soils, and landforms). The significance of these themes to humans in terms of interrelationships and distributions is emphasized. | ||
| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | Acquire accurate knowledge (terminolgy, classification, method, processes, and trends) of the physical environment. Identify and explain fundamental principles (theories and generalizations) of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere, and lithosphere. Acquire a broader understanding and appreciation of current issues involving the human/environment interrelationship. Identify and label key worldwide physical features. Actively participate in class by making comments and asking questions. Acquire both and appreciation for physical geography and desire to learn more. |
