Registration Process
Below are the basic steps to register for an internship. You do not register yourself - only the Internship Office can add the internship to your class schedule and/or transcripts.
Preliminary Steps
- Find an internship
- Fill out the Initial Internship Approval Form on Career Navigator
- Print three copies of the form (one for your records, once for your coordinator, one for the internship office)
- Have the form signed by your department coordinator
- Bring the form to the Internship Office
- Verify the Experience Provider has signed the Master Agreement
- Turn in any "exceptions" documentation (if applicable)

Once you have completed all steps, the Internship Office will register you for the course, and it will soon appear on your class schedule. You can check the progress of your request by returning to internship page on Career Navigator. Your status will be displayed and let you know what steps have been completed. Once it says “Approved/Registered”, you are good to go!
Items affecting your registration could include:
- You really haven’t completed all the necessary steps for registration.
- Accounting restrictions on your file (past due debts, fines, etc)
- Advising restrictions
- Current Bishop's Endorsement not on file (even though you may be leaving campus for your internship, because you are registered for the internship course you still need the endorsement on file.)
- Note: Questions regarding the continuing educational endorsement should be directed to the Dean of Students' Offices
- Other academic restrictions
If all the above steps are complete, you believe you have no restrictions on your file, and you are still not registered within 2 business days, you may contact the Internship Office for further information on the cause of the delay.
