Internship Evaluations & Grades
An internship is just like any other course - it will appear on your class schedule and transcripts, and you will receive credit and a letter grade.
What do I do when I'm finished working?
Two weeks before the end date of your experience, you will receive an evaluation reminder via email from the Internship Office. You are REQUIRED to submit this evaluation in order to receive a grade. This is in addition to any evaluations or assignments given to you by your department. Your evaluation will not be shared with your employer, so please be honest about your experience and answer each question thoroughly.
Your supervisor will also receive an evaluation reminder via email to complete an evaluation in Career Navigator, and will be encouraged to submit it to our office.
To complete the evaluation, you will return to the internship page on Career Navigator, select your internship and click “edit”. The evaluation will appear as a “self-evaluation” tab two weeks before the end of your internship. You do not need to receive the email in order to complete an evaluation – just return to Career Navigator at the appropriate time and the tab should be available.
If you believe it is time to complete the evaluation and the tab is not there, please verify with the Internship Office the end date of your experience.
You can also check the status of both your evaluation and the employer evaluation – in your internship list on Career Navigator, a column lists whether the evaluations have been completed.
What kind of grade will I receive for the course?
You will also want to check in with your department coordinator for any end-of-course requirements.
Department coordinators will evaluate assignments and issue final course grades, which will appear on your transcript. Any questions about grades should be discussed with your coordinator.
