Registration Process - Preliminary Steps Help

  1. Find an internship

  2. Fill out the Initial Internship Approval Form
    • You can obtain an Initial Internship Approval form from the Internship Office (230 Kimball) or from your department coordinator.
    • The Initial Internship Approval form is not available online.
    • Do you need assistance in filling out the form? Contact us for further instruction.

  3. Have the form signed by your department coordinator
    • If you don't know who your coordinator is, click here.
    • If you've tried to visit your coordinator, but they aren't in your office (especially during the summer), we may be able to find someone else who can sign the form instead. Contact us for further instruction.

  4. Bring the form to the Internship Office
    • We're in 230 Kimball, just in case you couldn't find us.
    • Did you leave your form with your coordinator? It could be that we haven't received it yet. Campus mail can take up to 2 business days. Perhaps your coordinator was going to bring it over and...forgot? You might want to check with your coordinator if you left the form with them.

  5. Verify the Experience Provider has signed the Master Agreement
    • Have you talked to your Experience Provider about registering and signing the Master Agreement?
    • Does your Experience Provider have questions about the document? Have them contact us.
    • The registration process is quick and painless - it only takes about 2 minutes. Have them go to www.byui.edu/internships and visit the Experience Provider section. The registration button is right on the first page.
    • Do YOU have questions or concerns about approaching them and having them register? Contact your coordinator or our office for assistance.
    • You only have 30 days from the time you dropped off your form to have this step and your registration completed. Contact us with any issues as soon as possible so we can help you resolve them in time.

  6. Turn in any "exceptions" documentation (if applicable)
    • When you dropped off your Initial Internship Approval form, did we let you know if there was additional documentation required? If so, we can't start the registration process until we receive it. You only have 30 days from the time you dropped off your form to get these in and get registered, so best be quick!
