Elder David Jorgensen began his career as a computer programmer in 1968. After a two-year break, when he worked as a stock broker for Merrill Lynch, he went to work in local government administration. He spent 30 years working in local government as a City Manager, Finance Director, and Human Resource Director.

Sister Sylvia Jorgensen spent most of her career in the travel industry. She worked as an airline sales representative and in outside sales for travel agencies and tour wholesalers. Recently, she began directing some of her energy to musicals.

The Jorgensen's served as the Internship & Career Services Office Missionaries from May 2006 to October 2007. They now live in Fruit Heights, UT and serve as Hub Service Missionaries for the Salt Lake City area.
