Internship Statistics

Taylor BuildingWell, this is our chance to brag!

It was only in the year 2000 that the Internship Program at BYU-Idaho was introduced. Before then, as Rick's College, this institution only offered 2-year degrees, and there simply wasn't time in a student's educational experience to complete an internship. Now, as an accredited 4-year university, the internship program continues to grow exponentially!

We now estimate that nearly every BYU-Idaho student will be required to complete one - if not two - internships before they graduate. This past year alone, we sent out almost 3,000 students — and we've sent interns to 47 states and 22 foreign countries.

Our office has also grown from one internship director to a staff of 6 full-time employees, 7 part-time employees, and 44 on-campus department coordinators. Quite a feat in just a few short years!
