Norman and Marilyn Harker were both born and raised in the Idaho Falls area. Both are from Church pioneer stock. Norm attended Ricks College from 1966 to 1968. He was graduated from Idaho State University in Civil Engineering.

After college they moved to LaGrande Oregon then Salem Oregon and finally to Vancouver Washington where they have lived for the past 32 years.

They have 5 children and 6 grandchildren.

Marilyn has served in Young Women’s in the ward and stake, Stake Primary President, Ward Relief Society President, and temple ordinance worker. She has worked in the Church Education System for the past 22 years as a teacher, Stake Supervisor and Support Specialist.

Norm has served as nursery leader, primary teacher, Sunday school teacher, scoutmaster, Elders Quorum President, Bishop and Stake High Councilor. He is currently an ordinance worker at the Portland Oregon Temple.

Community service for Marilyn includes Vice President of the Friends of the Library. Norm is a commissioner for the Clark Regional Wastewater District, an elected office. He is the vice president of the Washington Association of Sewer and Water Districts.
