JoAn Edwards' and Dave Forsyth's lives have been intertwined from the day they were born in Havre, MT., three weeks apart. They were reacquainted 17 years later and went to the prom together in Belle Fourche, SD. Their paths separated again when Dave attended the University of Wyoming and JoAn went to BYU. Dave traveled with his work and remained a bachelor. JoAn married Arnie Daniels-Brown in 1960 and had five children. Thirty-six years later JoAn was widowed and working in the hospital in Moses Lake, WA. JoAn and Dave met again in 1997 when Dave was visiting his mother, a patient in that hospital. JoAn and Dave began dating and one year later married. They now reside in Seattle and are the proud grandparents of 16 grandchildren.
Dave graduated from the University of Wyoming (BS-Finance). First employed with General Electric in Denver and Los Angeles, he then moved to Seattle and began a 42 year career in the surety bond business. He retired, in 2008, as a bond broker with Kibble & Prentice, a Seattle brokerage firm. His church callings include High Priest Group Secretary, High Priest Group Leader, Ward Employment Specialist, Stake Employment Specialist (current) and Seattle Temple Ordinance Worker (current). His favorite volunteering activities include American Cancer Society / Relay for Life. His best volunteering time was when he and JoAn worked as church volunteers at the SLC Olympics. Special retirement activities include family time, jazz, reading, and "he is always available for a ballgame."
JoAn's accomplishments in gospel and work: Held positions in Relief Society, Young Women, Primary, and scouting. CES Admission Advisor, volunteer International Special Olympics, Park City, UT; volunteer 2002 Olympics, SLC; owned and operated a swim school; first woman on the Moses Lake City Council, pilot training; currently swims competitively (Huntsman World Senior Games); Zoo Ambassador for Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.
