Employee Incentive Program

The Employee Incentive Program was designed to educate faculty about the importance of taking care of their bodies through healthy eating and exercise.  Weekly points will be awarded for healthy eating, living, and decision making.  These points will be tallied weekly.  At the end of the semester prizes will be awarded to all participants in the program, as well as the person with most points.  

 

How to Start

  • To start the incentive program email or call the Wellness Center.  You will enter your points each week to a website provided when you sign up. You can also email any questions or concerns.  
  • To earn more points you can come in for an appointment and get set up on a nutrition packet. This will take about half an hour. We briefly discuss with you to help you set an adequate calorie intake. Based on your weight and body composition we will help you select an appropriate intake.
  • Over each semester, you will count your points weekly for participating in certain healthful activities. Report your points on the website by Monday the following week to have your name entered in a drawing for prizes at the end-of-the-semester banquet. 
  • The closing banquet will be TBA, on a morning near the end of the semester.

Here is the point layout for the program:

EXERCISE POINTS:
Cardiovascular-Participate in 30 minutes of moderate exercise (jogging, walking, riding a bike, playing basketball, etc.)

Max 20 points per day

Resistance Training­-Exercise your muscles 2 times a week with resistance (calisthenics, lifting weights, etc)

Max 10 points per day

Stretching- stretch for at least ten minutes at least 2 days each week

 Max 5 points per day

NUTRITION POINTS:

Water Intake- drink at least 8 glasses of water every day

10 points per day

Fruits/Vegetables- eat 3-5 servings of fruits and/or vegetables every day

20 points per day

SPIRITUAL WELLNESS POINTS:

Improve your spiritual fitness by reading your scriptures 30 min. per day

5 points per day

BONUS POINTS:

*Earn 5 points for every FREE fitness class you attend in the Hart

*Earn 5 points for every time you get your body fat composition tested (a maximum of once per week)

*Earn 10 points each week that you do cardiovascular exercise 5+ days

*Earn 50 points for a Full Assessment at the Wellness Center (maximum of 2 times per semester)

*Earn 10 points for each % of body fat lost (get tested at the beginning and end of semester)

*Earn 200 points for achieving a personal goal by the end of the program (running a 5K, half-marathon, marathon; losing weight; etc.)
