Tools and services for campus curriculum to provide help for assessments, activities, and technology.

Campus Curriculum Development Services

When implementing improvements to your course, there are several tools and practices to consider. Whether you’re implementing new digital tools or creating new assessments or activities, we can help you optimize these improvements for your specific course, and tailored for your and your students’ needs. The following are a few of the things our team can help you create:
C3 Lab
CCD works closely with Dave Ashby and Sid Palmer to help with Creative Course Collaborations aimed at elevating the quality and delivery of our courses on this campus. By working with our team of designers and other faculty, you will be introduced to ideas you may not have previously considered for your course and way in which to dramatically improve or change the way the content is presented.
Assessment Services
The Assessment Services team exists to help you refine and perfect your tests and other assessment practices. Whether you are looking for help with formative or summative assessments, this team can help you identify areas to improve your tests and help you make sure your assessments are appropriately tied to the course, department, and institutional learning objectives.
Open Educational Resources (OER)
Open Educational Resources (OER) can be extremely broad and far-reaching. The CCD team can help faculty create, locate, evaluate, or compile effective resources that will reduce overall student costs. This may include textbooks, articles, images, music, video, or other resources.
Video Production
CCD can produce quality video components for your course in a variety of styles. We can produce text or animated style videos from scratch or we can coordinate with either Arik Durfee’s film crew for a more brief, live video, or with AV Productions for a much more involved production.
Interactive Storyline Activities
Think of Storyline as PowerPoint on steroids. It can be particularly helpful in creating content for a flipped learning environment and allow for students to engage more actively with the content and can even be integrated with our LMS as a graded activity.
Textbook Creation
As we seek to lower the overall cost of education for our students, one thing you may want to consider is creating your own textbook. Our graphics team will collaborate with you to convert your content into an aesthetically appealing textbook that can be offered in the bookstore, as a PDF (static or interactive), or as pages in the LMS.
Accreditation
Every few years, many departments are required to go through an accreditation process in which they must demonstrate to a board the effectiveness and appropriateness of the department curriculum. Our team will assist in creating a web-based evidence room, and can coordinate the collection and organization of evidence and make sure it is appropriately aligned with the standards set by the accrediting body.
Scale of Technological Expertise and Pedagogy (STEP)
The STEP process can help you better prepare your day-to-day lessons with technology and teaching pedagogical strategies in mind. The CCD team can introduce you to some of these innovative technologies, as well as give you ideas on how to effectively implement them into your classroom for both teaching and assessment.
Graphic Design
Many of these services will require some amount of graphic design. As we hire individuals for our team, one of the key areas we look at is a graphic design and graphic art. We are proud of our talented students who create beautiful designs and artwork that complement the content being taught in the courses we design.
