Textbook Buyback
The University Bookstore will hold Textbook Buyback from April 7th - 10th from 8 am - 5 pm at the Manwaring Center Room 226 and at the Football Stadium Ticket Booth (Hart Hall of Fame foyer if there is bad weather).
Before Textbook Buyback begins, each student receives an e-mail that contains a list fo the textbooks for his or her current classes and the buyback amounts being paid for them at Textbook Buyback. The prices listed in the e-mail are the Bookstore Loyalty Price, the Bookstore Non-Loyalty Price, and the National Wholesale Price. The price each student can receive depends on two things: (1) whether you bought the book from the Bookstore; and (2) whether the Bookstore has filled it's quota.
Bookstore Quota:
The Bookstore buys back as many used books as we think we can sell during the following term--this is the quota. It is based on book requests and enrollment estimates provided by faculty members.
Bookstore Loyalty Price:
If you purchased your book from the Bookstore you are automatically part of the Loyalty Program and will get the loyalty price until the Bookstore fills it’s quota. Once the quota is filled, the wholesale price will be paid.
Bookstore Non-Loyalty Price:
If you did not purchase your book from the Bookstore you can sell it back at any time for the Wholesale price. If you choose to wait until the last day of buyback you will receive the non-loyalty price until the Bookstore quota has been filled.
National Wholesale Price
The Bookstore has partnered with a National Used Book Wholesaler and buys books for them at both of our buyback locations. The wholesaler has a national market and is able to still buy books after the Bookstore has met it’s quota. Prices are based on national demand for each book.
