Raise the Bar
As the challenges
around us increase, we must commit to do more to qualify
for the companionship of the Holy Ghost. Casual
prayer won't be enough. Reading a few verses of
scriptures won't be enough. Doing the minimum of
what the Lord asks of us won't be enough. Hoping
that we will have the Atonement work in our lives and
that we will perhaps sometimes feel the influence of the
Holy Ghost won't be enough. |

Brigham Young
University - Idaho: A Disciple Preparation Center
Let me suggest that in
Rexburg, Idaho, we are in the process of creating not a
missionary training center (MTC), but a Disciple
Preparation Center - a DPC. In this special and
sacred and set apart place, you and I have access to
unparalleled spiritual resources that can assist us in
developing and deepening our devotion as disciples of
the Lord Jesus Christ. |

Freedom
Wherefore, the Lord
God gave unto man that he should act for himself . . .
(2 Nephi 2: 15-16
. . . I take that to
mean that only with choice can there be freedom.
We are not free by entitlement but by the availability
of our choices. And the truth of the matter is,
ultimately, we create most of the choices that make us
free. |

True Blue, Through and
Through
Integrity is
the foundational virtue upon which all other virtues are
dependant. It is the first rung on the character
ladder. Where there is integrity, other
virtues will follow. Where there is no integrity,
other virtues will have no chance of developing. |
