Department of
Nursing Reunion Report
Over 200 alumni from the Department of Nursing met together for a reunion dinner
on October 8, 2004. The event was held in conjunction with the Fall 2004 Spirit
Week.
The evening was
highlighted by remarks from former nursing faculty member Lucy Legg Blackham,
current faculty members Kathy Barnhill and Kim Van Wagoner, and concluding
remarks by Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
The reunion was a
tremendous success. A strong interest has been expressed by the alumni nurses to
have another reunion, tentatively scheduled for 2008.

Dear
Alumni:
In the
most recent edition of this magazine, you may have read about our new Alumni
Ambassador program, which was developed to cover the growing needs of our
alumni. We are very excited to report we now have over 200 ambassadors
serving throughout the United States and Canada. As we have called new
Ambassadors, we have discovered most have already been unofficial
ambassadors for Ricks College and BYU–Idaho.
In short, they have always been cheerleaders and advocates for the school.
Through small day-to-day interactions, they are helping keep our alumni
connected.
One of the
primary purposes of our Alumni Association is to assist our alumni in staying
connected to each other, to the university, and to the Church. We are always
striving to improve the way we accomplish this important purpose; but honestly,
we simply cannot do it without you. Please continue to join us for reunions,
Spirit Week activities, and visit our online community, Alumni Connections, at
www.byui.edu/alumni. These are just a few of
the many ways you can help us stay connected.
Let us know
how we are doing. What can we do better or different? Do you feel connected to
your alma mater? We would sincerely appreciate any feedback you might give.
Please take a moment to send us a quick note via e-mail to alumni@byui.edu or
through the mail to 16 E. Main Street, Rexburg, ID 83460-0056.
I join with
you in expressing gratitude for the experience of attending this great
university. I invite you to celebrate the future of BYU–Idaho,
while continuing to share the wonderful
“Spirit
of Ricks”
we all remember and cherish.
Sincerely,
Bruce Nyborg
