Alumni Legacy Scholarships 

Please Note: Becuase the summer and fall deadline of March 1 falls on a Saturday, we will accept applications faxed to the Alumni Office or postmarked on March 3, 2008. The Alumni fax number is 1-208-656-6505.

Alumni Legacy  Scholarships are primarily for new BYU-Idaho students who are children of Alumni (Ricks College or BYU-Idaho).  These private scholarships come from money donated by alumni and friends of the university.  Final award decisions are made by the BYU-Idaho Scholarship office based on the recommendations from Alumni Ambassadors or the Alumni Council. 

Alumni Legacy Scholarship Restrictions

The following restrictions would apply to the awarding of Alumni Legacy Scholarships.

1. Award amounts will be a minimum of $300 per scholarship.
2. Award recipients must be admitted to the university.
3. Awards are typically given to new students only.
4. Award recipients must submit an Alumni Legacy Scholarship Application [PDF] [Word] by the scholarship deadline of March 1 for summer or fall and October 1 for winter.
5. Awards recipients will typically be children of alumni.
6. Award preference would typically be given to those who have not already qualified for an appropriated scholarship.
7. Consideration will be based on academic preparation and other merits (from the essay response of the applicant).
8. Scholarship recipients will be asked to provide a thank you letter.
