2000's

Kimberly Jan Cone '07: My husband and I moved to Tuscaloosa, AL after we graduated BYU-Idaho in April. Austin is attending the University of Alabama and working toward an MBA. I started working at MailSouth, Inc. as an Advertising Account Manager. MailSouth is an advertising business that creates and mails out direct mail advertising. I work with businesses in Tennesee, Viginia and Illinois. I am enjoying my work and co-workers.

Richard Blaine Evans '06 recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. Also recently began full-time employment with Monsanto in Rock Springs, WY as a Mechanical Reliability Engineer.

Fred '05and Melissa Diane Bamfo '05: Fred and I recently returned from a being stationed in Seoul, Korea with the military. Fred served in the US Army for 2 years, during which he was able to recieve his US citizenship. While in Korea, I gave birth to our first child, Lucy Diane Bamfo. She is the joy of our lives. We enjoyed living abroad, but are glad to be back in the US with our friends and family. I am fortunate to stay at home with our daughter Lucy, but I also teach voice lessons and tutor Koreans with their english over the phone. Fred is working on his Masters degree in public health

Jodee Krainik '05 accepted an Associate Publicist position at Avalon Travel Publishing, publisher of Rick Steves' titles, the Moon Handbooks series, and a member of the Perseus Books Group. Prior to this she lived in China where she taught English to middle school and high school students.

Johanne D. Martial '05:  Graduated from BYU-Idaho with a BA in Communication, PR in December 2005. I am currently on my second year of Graduate School in French Literature at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Jeffrey Max Williams '05 is the new Senior Graphic Designer for Franklin Covey in Salt Lake City. Christy works part-time as a creative consultant for a local scrapbook store. Both are proud parents to a vibrant,cutie patootie 2-year-old, Daisy.

Abby M Beattie '04:  Brent '06 and I have settled in Utah where he is a financial analyst for Boeing and I teach private violin lessons. We have 2 beautiful girls, Laura 3, and Eden 1. We just bought our first home and are enjoying our time in Utah.

1990's

Travis W. Palmer '99, Travis received his bachelor's degree from BYU in Provo and then his Doctorate from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. He and his wife and 3 kids currently live in the Boise area and he is working at Altitude Physical Therapy, an outpatient PT office.

Benjamin Ross Roper '98:  I have four children: David Scott Roper (6), Emma Leigh Roper (4), Gracelin Joy Roper (2), and Caytie Lela Roper (new born). I am currently attending University of Texas at Dallas for an MBA degree while I work full time for Quantum as a support engineer. I still enjoy teaching and playing my viola and banjo and will continue to do so in the future.

Aaron Spencer Florence'96 graduated from medical school in 2004. He is currently in his last year of his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program. He plans on completing an additional year of sub-specialty training in Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgery by completing a fellowship in Lake Tahoe. Currently, he is living with his wife and four children on Long Island, New York.

Clintepious ("Clint") Theodore Gilmore '96: After attending Ricks College (Brigham Young University -daho) I received a BA from Brigham Young University, Provo in 2000 and a JD from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah in 2003. I am licensed to practice law in Nevada and Utah. I am a deputy city prosecutor with West Valley City Attorney's Office, a Special Deputy District Attorney for Salt Lake County, and a Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Utah. I recently received a National Award from the Director of the Department of Justice in Washington, DC. My wife (Shiloah Young Gilmore, Class of '96) and I are the parents of four sons and we live in West Valley City, Utah.

Stephanie Joy Long '96, just celebrated their 11th year anniversary, and have two beautiful children, Caelyn age 6 and Andrew age 4.   She is currently working on Dual MBAs in Accounting and Finance, with the end goal of achieving the CPA certification and possibly of  future doctorates degree.

Amanda Howell '96: ,After 8 years of tending to my 2 daughters; I am finally recieving my BA in Social Science and beginning my Masters in School Counseling. My two years at Ricks were the BEST two years of my life. I loved my trip with the Sociology department to Chicago to work with the Inner City Youth program and that experience helped encourage me to purse a career with at risk youth. Ricks College was the best. I just wish it had been a 4-year college way back when. I can't wait unit my daughters get to experience the joy that BYU-Idaho has to offer them in the future.

Erin Kollene Davidson '94, How I loved Ricks College! I was Woman of the year in 1994. My husband and I recently adopted our 7th child through the foster care foundation. Maybe it is not newsworthy...but my degree from Ricks, along with continued education at Utah State have made me the person I am today. I will always remember my time at Ricks!

Gregory W Lassen '94, Transferred to University of Colorado in Boulder, graduated in 1997 with BA in Intl Affairs, hired by Ameritech/SBC and moved to the mid-west, bounced around there for a couple-three years, finally ended up in Cleveland, Ohio. Met the love of my life, married Amy Perkins in 2001, have two beautiful children (Elizabeth & Molly) with another girl due in December (2007). Working as a Regional Sales Manager, golfing when I can, spending most of my time with my family.

Greg Hales '91, Greg coached football at Eastern Oregon University and also coached at Fremont High School in Plain City, Utah.  Greg coached the line on back-to-back Region One championship teams in 2005-2006.  Greg has spent the past seven years in pharmaceutical slaes and lives in Farr West, utah with his wife Kim and their three children.

Lainie Kathleen Pyper '94:  Kendall '97 and I are in San Francisco for our last year of dental school. Kendall graduates next June 2008. We have 4 children: Jasmin 7, Alyse 3 1/2, Kendric & Spencer 22 months. We cherish our Rick's College memories, especially as it is the place of our courtship!

Nancy K. Rison '94, After graduating in 1994 I proceeded to get a job at the Prosecutor's Office at home, but that wasn't enough....I wanted to travel, to see the world and of course get paid for it! I applied to serve as a United Nations Volunteer in Sierra Leone and I got it! And from there, started a new exciting life in Africa. I worked with the UN peacekeeping mission in Sierra Leone for 8 great months and then secured an international posting with a War Crimes Tribunal in SL, where I worked for 3 years. Presently I am working again with the UN Peacekeeping Mission in Khartoum, Sudan.

Marietta Miller Allman '93:  Hunter and I were married March 17, 2006 in the Washington DC temple. It was wonderful and the best thing I've ever done!


Lauralyn Salinas '90, was crowned Mrs. Idaho America 2007 and competed in the Mrs. America Pageant on September 5th. Her goal to be competitive in a modest wardrobe was realized when she was named a top ten finalist. She is the first women from Idaho to earn that honor. Lauralyn and her husband Marc are the parents of five children.

1980's

Gregg Richard Clifton '87 has worked for the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office for over ten years. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in July 2006 and his primary responsibility has been to oversee an 80 million dollar build out project of the overcrowded jail system that currently holds over 1400 inmates. His wife (Maralee Hunsaker, '87) and family are very proud of his accomplishments. It all started with BYU-Idaho (Ricks College). Their daughter Paige will be following in their footsteps this fall as she begins her first year at BYU-Idaho.

Glenn Crookston '84 is 20 years into a commercial lending career after a BA in English @ Utah State (1987). I worked for Associates Commercial Corporation from 1987-2001 and transfered 7 times in 11 years. I now work for International Truck and Engine Corp in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Laurence "Lance" Merl Nelson, Jr. '82 : Promoted to Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve. Recently returned from a tour in Iraq, served as a Flight Surgeon and Member of the Head and Neck Trauma Team in Balad. Serves on the Board of Directors for Tanner Clinic in Layton, UT. Completed the Maintenance of Certification for Ophthalmology Board Certification. Married to the most wonderful woman he knows for 26 years. Parents of 5. Blessed far beyond what we deserve.

James B Wiebe III '80:  Jim and his wife Lois are residing in Riner, Virginia. Jim is a mechanical engineer and project manager working on hybrid commercial vehicle design with lots of overseas travel. Their daughter, Abigail, graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2006, and daughter Annie will be a senior at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, this Fall.

1970's

Nancy McBride '79, graduated from BYU-Utah in 1981 in recreation therapy. She worked part-time for the City of Loveland, CO., recreation department for a few years. She currently works for Walgreens Drug in Greeley, CO as a certified pharmacy technician. She passed the national pharmacy technician test on the first try last November 2006. She is married to V. Alan McBride and has 2 boys.

Tom Bassett '73, started the "TMC FAMILY FOUNDATION" in October, 2007 to benefit our search for our ancestors through DNA technologies.

 

Perry O'Neal Rush '73, recieved "Chiropractor of the Year" award from William G. Blair Chiropractic Society. Recieved Sherman College Service award. Invited to lecture on Chiropractic specialty in Argentina and Japan in 2008. Presently in the Boiling Springs S.C. bishopric. Four children, four grandchildren.

1960's

Gary L. Carlson '68, Gary studied music @ Ricks w/ Darwin Wolford, Jack Bowman and Lamar Barrus. Ended up as an architect. (a musical one!)Worked in LDS temple design & church archtecture from 76' to 85'. Designed Tahiti, Denver and Las Vegas temples, assisted with many others around the world including stained glass designs and deeply involved with Temple Square Tabernacle remodels and Assembly Hall remodel and new tracker organ in 83'. Married Kathryn Oney in Salt Lake Temple in 74'. Two sons. Kathryn is a geneologist and done much work in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois and Iowa on family lines. Active in the church and both have held almost every ward and stake calling the last 33 years. Currently serving as ward organist and choir director. Living in Las Vegas since 1985.

Deanne Purdy '67:  My sister, Kayleen Moore Scott (Student Body VP of Activities, class of 1968), and I are referenced in "The Journal of Mormon History" Spring 2006, p. 112, in John S. Tanner's article, "Shakespeare Among the Saints." This is in reference to the book we published together in 1991, "Inspired Quotes from the Pen of Shakespeare."

1950's

Roger L Miller '56: Retired (Spring, 2007) after 25 years as a member of the music faculty of the U. o! f Utah. Writer for Music and the Spoken Word. Mormon Tabernacle Choir member for 20 years, enjoyed world wide travel and many other wonderful experiences, completely circumnavigated the globe in the summer of 1985. Hawaii Mission 1957-59.
