AWARD NOMINATION FORM


Distinguished Alumni Award

Category 1- For Professional Accomplishments

Established in 1963. To recognize and honor alumni 40 years of age or older who have distinguished themselves in their profession. Presented at the Alumni Awards Luncheon (1-2 annually - individual or couple).

  1. Presented for highest professional distinction. The individual(s) considered must have received noteworthy recognition regionally, nationally, or internationally in his/her profession.
  2. This award is presented to an individual or couple who have achieved equally, together, or as one in the supporting role of the other in attaining the level of accomplishments indicated in # 1 above.
  3. Must be an alumnus/alumna of BYU-Idaho/Ricks College, completing a minimum of 16 credit hours to qualify, not necessarily a graduate.
  4. The award can be presented to a husband and wife simultaneously.
  5. The nominee must be supportive of BYU-Idaho and its programs.

Category 2- For Service

Established in 1995. To recognize and honor alumni who have provided significant humanitarian or compassionate service. Presented at the Alumni Awards Luncheon (1-2 annually - individual or couple).

  1. Presented for noteworthy compassionate, humanitarian, or community service. The individual(s) considered must have made significant contributions through service in the home, community or to mankind in general over a sustained period of time.
  2. This award is presented to an individual or couple who have achieved equally, together, or as one in the supporting role of the other in attaining the level of accomplishments indicated in # 1 above.
  3. Must be an alumnus/alumna of BYU-Idaho/Ricks College, completing a minimum of 16 credit hours to qualify, not necessarily a graduate.
  4. The nominee must be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing.
  5. The award can be presented to a husband and wife simultaneously.
  6. The nominee must be supportive of BYU-Idaho and its programs.

Distinguished Emeritus Service Award

Presented for leading an exemplary life. Established in 1974. Presented at the semi-annual Emeritus Breakfast (4 annually - individual or couple).

  1. The nominees must have led exemplary lives in the church and community, and have served as good examples.
  2. If a couple is nominated one or the other must be an alumnus/alumna of BYU-Idaho/Ricks College, completing a minimum of 16 credits.
  3. The nominee must be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing.
  4. The nominee must be supportive of BYU-Idaho and its programs.

Eliza R. Snow Award for the Performing or Visual Arts

For accomplishments in the performing or visual arts, established in 1988. Presented at the Eliza R. Snow spring Celebration of the Arts (1 -2 annually - individual or couple).

  1. This award is presented to an individual or couple who have achieved equally, together, or as one in the supporting role of the other, in attaining a level of accomplishments in the performing and fine arts, over an extended period of time.
  2. Must be an alumnus/alumna of BYU-Idaho/Ricks College, completing a minimum of 16 credit hours, not necessarily a graduate.
  3. The nominee must be active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in good standing.
  4. This award can be presented to a husband/wife team.
  5. The nominee must be supportive of BYU-Idaho and its programs.

Outstanding Educator Award

This award recognizes an individual who is considered by his or her peers and students to be an outstanding educator. Established in 1991. Presented at the Alumni Awards Luncheon (1-2 annually).

  1. The nominee must be considered to be a truly outstanding educator by his/her peers and actively incorporating current teaching methods with an emphasis on building student self-esteem.
  2. The candidate must be a full-time professional educator with at least 10 years of service in grades preschool through senior high and be currently employed as an educator.
  3. The nominee must exemplify the highest standards of moral, character, and personal integrity.
  4. Team educators must be nominated individually.
  5. The nominee must be an alumnus/alumna of BYU-Idaho/Ricks College, completing a minimum of 16 credits, not necessarily a graduate.
  6. The nominee must be active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in good standing.
  7. The nominee must be supportive of BYU-Idaho and its programs.

Outstanding Young Alumni Award

To recognize and honor alumni under the age of 40 years of age who have distinguished themselves in their profession. Presented at the Alumni Awards Luncheon (1-2 annually - individual or couple).
