Step 3 - Learn About Paying For School

You can afford a BYU-Idaho education. There are many resources available through the Student Financial Aid Office. Approximately 70% of BYU-Idaho students receive some type of financial assistance to pay for school and 30% of freshman receive a scholarship.

As a student, it is primarily your responsibility to pay for your education. The Student Financial Aid Office can assist you as you consider your options. To be considered for scholarships and/or federal financial aid you will need to complete the following required applications:

BYU-Idaho Scholarship Application:

  • Incoming freshmen - complete during your high school senior year
  • Application is available from October 15 through April 15
  • Complete the application online at www.byui.edu/financialaid

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):

  • Incoming freshmen - complete during your high school senior year
  • Application is available January 1st
  • Complete the application online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
