Target Student Profile
Students who come to BYU-Idaho with the proper preparation find it easy to succeed in the warm, friendly, innovative atmosphere they encounter on our campus. That preparation entails academic, spiritual, and attitude components. For some helpful descriptions of characteristics that make a student a good fit for BYU-Idaho, we invite you to ponder the following scriptures:
- Doctrine & Covenants 97: 8-9
- Doctrine & Covenants 64: 34
- Mosiah 5: 15
- Alma 48: 11-13
- Alma 53: 20
- Alma 57: 21
- Mormon 1: 2
- Alma 7: 23-24
- Mosiah 2: 41
- 4 Nephi 1: 16
Students who reflect the characteristics described in these passages and invite others to do the same are a key part of inviting the Spirit of the Lord to BYU-Idaho classrooms, activities, and campus in general. We are very interested in students who:
- selflessly lift others around them
- try a little harder to do a little better each day
- go the extra mile to serve the Lord
- prefer to get involved rather than waste time
- eagerly invite others to join them in getting involved
- demonstrate enthusiasm for life, service, and the gospel of Jesus Christ
