If you're calling about a specific course, have the course ID and course title ready. This helps us find your course more quickly than searching by the course title only (for example, there are a lot of Math 108 courses). Course IDs are unique to each course, whereas titles are not.
To find the course ID, make sure you are currently viewing the course (course plan or gradebook). Then, double-click the BYU-Idaho logo at the top right corner of the screen. This will open a little box with several pieces of information. Locate the one that says Course ID.
Make sure you have the course you need help with open.
Please specify if you are working in the master or the section. If changes are made in the section, it could break the link with the master course. If you have questions about this, you can review the relationship between a master and a section here, or you can call and ask us for more information.
The Help Desk is your primary resource for computer trouble. If you are having trouble logging in, your email is on the fritz, or something just isn't working right, they may be able to help you more efficiently than we can.
However, if you need training on how to use a program on your computer, call us! We are your primary resource for training.
Some of the technologies we support include:
Obviously, we don't know everything about every program, but we are quick learners. Once we know how something works, we can help you learn it too!
Of course, we're always happy to help, no matter how large or small the request may be. However, did you know there are some things you can do without calling us?
Some things you can do on your own include:
If you have any questions about how to do any of these things, give us a call. One of our employees will be happy to provide training and assistance!
