Student Teaching
- Student Teaching is one 10-credit course (ED 492). No other classes may be taken with Student Teaching with the exception of one on-line religion course. It is your last semester before graduation. The following are current student teaching locations or projected locations:
Las Vegas, NV-Fall, Winter & Summer
Mesa & Gilbert, AZ-Fall & Winter Semesters ONLY
Salt Lake City, UT- Fall & Winter ONLY
Rexburg & Idaho Falls-Fall & Winter ONLY
*IN ORDER TO CORRECT FALSE IMPRESSIONS ABOUT STUDENT TEACHING, STUDENTS NEED TO BE AWARE THAT:
- There is a strong probability of distant site placements.
- Distant site placements are limited to certain locations and will be more expensive than campus-based semesters. These Special Student Teaching Placements are available by petition only.
- Local area placements will require significant commuting for many.
- There will be some unanticipated program expenses that develop throughout the program (e.g. Praxis tests and fingerprinting). These are expenses that are not BYU-Idaho initiated.
