Interview Suggestions

 

  • Research the school system prior to interviewing with them.
  • Be prepared to ask intelligent questions about the school system.
  • Be sincere and honest in answering questions and expressing your feelings.
  • Be on time, it shows that you are interested in the employer.
  • Dress up - your clothes don't have to be expensive, but clean and neat. Women should wear professional dresses, suits, skirts, and blouses not pants. Men should have on ties and jackets (suits, nice slacks).
  • Be yourself in the interview. Don't perform for the recruiter.
  • Be enthusiastic and let the employer know how much you want to be a teacher.
  • Be inquisitive about the position.
  • Be specific in your answers. If you can't answer a question, say so.
  • Know what you want and why you want it (e.g. method of instruction, grade level(s), life situation).
