H&K Construction - 10/09/2008

Today we met for our first trip to H&K gravel pit in Idaho Falls.  We were invited there for a tour and also for a walk-through of the facility, to get a better idea of how we wanted to conduct our sampling for Silica dust exposures.  The Exposures were from their rock crusher, used to crush the rock for concrete.

University of Utah- 04/10/2009

Today we were invited down to the University of Utah to participate in a combined AIHA meeting with their chapter.  We heard several of their graduate students research thesis presentations and projects.  There was a guest speaker from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The lead IH for the church and head of risk management.  We were also shown around campus, to the toxicology and ergonomics labs.  We also met with several of the professors and students.

NORA Symposium - University of Utah - 04/15-17/2009

Today we were invited down the University of Utah to participate in the annual NORA Symposium.  This is one of two NORA symposiums that is sponsored by NIOSH, this one is for new researchers.  Several Graduate and Doctoral students from different NIOSH education and research centers (ERCs) around the nation present their graduate and doctoral research and disserations.  The head of NIOSH also spoke.
