Teaching License

- Take the Praxis Exam for both your major and minor and the Ed Technology Exam

- Get your fingerprint taken. KIM 150 Tues/Thurs 4-6 (If student teaching in Las Vegas you will get it there)

- Fill out all required forms (application, institutional recommendation or professional experience form)

- Acquire all necessary documents (transcripts, praxis II score, technology score)

- Mail your completed packet (requirements of packet listed below) to:

Packet requirements:

- Complete application for Idaho credential.

- Fingerprint card

- Fees: $75 for credential application and $40.00 for criminal history check. Make the check payable to Idaho Department of Education. One check for both payments is permissible.

- Official Transcripts from ALL colleges you have attended

- Institutional recommendation

  • Basic Education (i.e. Eled or Seced or Special Education)
  • K-12 School Principals
  • School Superintendents
  • Directors of SpecialEd

 

- Completed professional experience form If applicant has 2 or more years of experience. If you have taught for 2 or more years (student teaching not included) then you don't need the institutional recommendation form.

- Technology Competency: Original certificate of completion, a notarized copy of the certificate, or an official letter of completion from an Idaho State Board of Education-approved provider of the Educator Technology assessment.

- Official Praxis II assessment score sheet or notarized copy
