DRUG COURT EVALUATOR
Students selected for this internship will be directly involved in the evaluation of drug courts for the Seventh Judicial District. Interns will evaluate treatment staff members, judges, and drug court participants.
What is the Drug Court Program:
-
Drug Courts are an innovative approach in dealing with the impact of drugs and drug related crimes on our community. Drug Courts are an alternative approach in which drug offenders are placed into community based treatment programs instead of going to jail.
-
Judges, attorneys, law enforcement officials and treatment professionals work collaboratively as a team to move repeating drug offenders out of the criminal justice system and aid them in living productive and drug/alcohol free lives.
Interns will need to have a flexible schedule and be able to travel from Driggs to Blackfoot. The evaluations will occur at different times during the day on different days of the week. Excellent observation skills, writing skills and interviewing skills are essential.

- Attend the various drug courts
- Administer questionnaires to the drug court participants
- Do a courtroom evaluation of each drug court attended
