Rockapella to bring a cappella sound to BYU–Idaho

Rockapella will perform at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg on Saturday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hart Auditorium.

Tickets for the Center Stage event are $12 for the general public and $5 for BYU–Idaho students. Tickets can be purchased at the BYU–Idaho Ticket Office by calling 496-2230, online at www.byui.edu/tickets, or at the door.

The contemporary a cappella group presents a blend of soul, rock, R&B and jazz. The group may be best known for the sound behind the theme song for the former TV show “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego”

The New York Daily News has written: “Rockapella is unquestionably providing a big boost to the a cappella scene. Innovative, well-produced, the band brilliantly incorporates different styles and ideas. Hooray for Rockapella.”

Rockapella has toured across the United States and Japan with a sound formed purely from their own voices and high-intensity mouth drums. Those hearing for the first time often gasp and say, “Where are the instruments?”

Rockapella has released more than 20 albums and last performed at BYU–Idaho in September 2006.
