Sinfonietta to Perform an Evening of Music at BYU–Idaho
The Brigham Young University–Idaho Department of Music presents the Sinfonietta orchestra in an evening of music.
The concert will feature music from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 1 and Elgar’s Serenade for String Orchestra. Student concerto winner, Monica Palmer, will perform Lowell Liebermann’s Concerto for Flute. Diane Soelberg, director of the Symphony Band at BYU–Idaho, will be conducting this performance.
The Sinfonietta is composed of students who have been chosen from the Symphony Orchestra and perform standard orchestral literature from the 18th-century. Sinfonietta tours locally and internationally.
The performance will be March 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Barrus Concert Hall of the Eliza R. Snow Center for the Performing Arts.
Tickets are $3 for BYU-Idaho students and $6 for the general public and can be purchased at the BYU–Idaho ticket office located in the Spencer W. Kimball Student and Administrative Services Building or online at www.byui.edu/tickets. Concert dress is required.
