Collegiate Singers to Host the Madison High School Bell Cantos Group

Students and community members are invited to spend the evening listening to the talented voices participating in the Collegiate Singers Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 7:30 p.m.

The Collegiate Singers this year will host the Madison High School Bel Cantos Group under the direction of Mr. David Hinck. The program includes music by Mack Wilberg, Ron Staheli’s arrangement of How Can I Keep from Singing, and an unusual piece called Past Life Melodies, which features overtone throat singing.

“Our portion of the concert is titled We Are All Children and will feature music by, for and about the children in all of us,” said Randall Kempton, director of Collegiate Singers. The Collegiate Singers will present a portion of the program that they will tour with to Alaska in April. “It should be a program of very high quality choral music with enough variety for everyone to enjoy,” Kempton says.

The performance will be held in the Barrus Concert Hall in the Eliza R. Snow Center for the Performing Arts located on the BYU–Idaho campus. Tickets are available online at www.byui.edu/tickets or at the BYU–Idaho Ticket Office. The prices are $3 for students and $6 for community members. Concert dress is required for the event.
