Air Force band to perform free concert at BYU-Idaho
Brass in Blue, a brass ensemble of the U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band, will perform patriotic and American music Wednesday, July 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirkham Auditorium at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg.
Tickets for the patriotic concert two days before the Fourth of July are free and available to the public beginning June 9. Tickets may be ordered by calling 496-2230 or online at www.byui.edu/tickets. There is a limit of four tickets per person. People are asked to be in their seats 10 minutes prior to the performance when all seats will be released.
Comprised of ten brass players, a percussionist and a vocalist, the ensemble maintains a rigorous performance schedule presenting a diverse repertoire featuring orchestral transcriptions, patriotic favorites, jazz standards, new compositions and arrangements.
Brass in Blue is part of the Heartland of America Band based at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. The main band performed at BYU-Idaho two years ago.
The brass group also will be performing July 1 at the Grand Teton Music Festival in Teton Village, Wyo.
