BYU-Idaho to hold annual Home, Garden and Bridal Show, expanded offerings include workshops
This year's Brigham Young University-Idaho Home, Garden and Bridal Show, scheduled for Saturday, March 22 in the Ezra Taft Benson Agricultural and Biological Sciences Building, is being expanded to include instructional workshops.
"Everyone is invited to come get ideas for your own weddings, or come to learn some fun things and see great designs," said Ashley Akin, coordinator of the event.
This year's workshops will be tailored to married students hoping to grow a patio garden, community members learning new outdoor garden techniques, and all students wanting to know how to arrange cut flowers, prepare soil, etc.
There will be a brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at a cost of $7. Following the brunch, there will be a Bridal Open House, as well as the workshops, which will be $3 for guests.
The show will also feature six extravagant "faux" wedding receptions designed by floral students themed after each period of the Creation. The event will be co-hosted by the Department of Horticulture and the Social Activities Committee.
