Idaho Bluegrass Night to feature

Lincoln Highway and Cherie Call

The sixth annual Idaho Bluegrass Night at Brigham Young University-Idaho will feature the Utah folk band Lincoln Highway with singer Cherie Call on Saturday, Jan. 26, at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. in the Snow Drama Theater.

Tickets for the concert are $8 for the general public, $4 for BYU-Idaho students and $20 a family and can be purchased at the Kimball Ticket Office or online at www.byui.edu/tickets.

Lincoln Highway, named after the first transcontinental highway, is a group of four Utah musicians who have been performing together for 11 years. Although there are only bits and pieces of the original Lincoln highway left, the group felt the name captured the spirit of traditional and bluegrass music that they play.

Singer and songwriter Cherie Call, who will join Lincoln Highway, is known for her popular albums such as "He Gives Flowers to Everyone" and songs featured on Especially for Youth albums. The Faith Centered Music Association have honored Call with several Pearl Awards, including best contemporary album, inspirational song and songwriter of the year.

Opening the concert will be Viking Station, BYU-Idaho's own student bluegrass band.
