LDS Cadet Choir from U.S. Air Force Academy to perform at BYU-Idaho

The Latter-day Saint Cadet Choir from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo, will perform a free concert at Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 5 p.m. in the Snow Recital Hall. No tickets are required.

The choir has been sharing testimony through song since 1997. Not only does the choir provide opportunities for LDS cadets to fellowship together, but it also gives a way for sharing their faith in Christ and their dedication to service with audiences throughout Colorado and the West.

The choir totals about 30 cadets (a little more than one fourth of the LDS cadets). Almost half of the choir are returned missionaries for the LDS Church, including a few of the freshmen who served their missions before coming to the academy. There is also a close affiliation with the LDS institute program at the academy where there are approximately 100 LDS cadets.

Choir members from Idaho include Andrew Groberg of Idaho Falls, Charlton Coats and Chase Webster of Rupert and Gabriel Staples of Caldwell. One of the choir directors, Carl Crockett, also lived 20 years in Idaho.
