BYU-Idaho to host Home and Family Conference
The Brigham Young University-Idaho Division of Continuing Education and the Department of Home and Family will join forces to present a conference titled "Get a Life: Skills for Better Living" on Saturday, October 27.
Participants will start this Home and Family Conference by hearing from Elder Ronald J. Hammond, an Area Seventy, who will give the keynote address entitled, "Home as a Sacred Center of Our Lives/Proclamation on the Family."
After the address, classes and workshops on a variety of topics will be held, including gardening, child reading, thrifty living, cooking, and many other matters concerning efficient and healthy family life.
The luncheon speaker will be H. Wallace Goddard, an expert on marriage and family development. He will be speaking on, "Compassion in Family Life." Sack lunches will be provided.
More classes and workshops will then be available until the closing social and the "skills for better living" information booth exhibition.
Check in for the conference will be from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. in the Kirkham Building foyer, where participants will receive a name tag and a sack lunch voucher.
Attendees will also receive more details about times and locations of classes and conference events. The conference will continue until 4:30 p.m.
