"We are not bound by tradition, nor are we limited to our own understanding or to the wisdom of men. In short, this is a very unusual university."

Side Street Strutters from Disneyland to perform at BYU-Idaho
Direct from Disneyland in Southern California, the Side Street Strutters will perform in the Kirkham Auditorium at BYU-Idaho on Friday, Sept. 28, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Center Stage Performing Arts Series.
Tickets for the concert can be purchased from the BYU-Idaho Ticket Office by calling 496-2230 or online at www.byui.edu/tickets. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for BYU-Idaho students.
The Strutters' repertoire encompasses over half a century of musical styles from the early New Orleans Dixieland and blues sounds of Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton and Fats Waller, the timeless classics of Porter, Carmichael and Gershwin, and the exciting swing sounds from the libraries of Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and others.
The group's entertaining show style includes colorful costumes, a stage set, tap dancing, vocal selections, novelty numbers and the use of rare and unusual musical instruments.
Two of the band members have close ties to the upper valley. Rob Verdi (saxophone and emcee) is married to Francy Mackert and Vince Verdi (clarinet and business manager) is married to Lori Mackert. They are daughters to Frank and Nancy Mackert, long-time residents of St. Anthony.
