"We are not bound by tradition, nor are we limited to our own understanding or to the wisdom of men. In short, this is a very unusual university."

BYU-Idaho Humanitarian Service Organization invites students to serve others
Brigham Young University-Idaho's Humanitarian Service Organization is inviting students to participate in a service project on Tuesday, June 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Gordon B. Hinckley Building, rooms 240, 260, 270 and 286.
Students will be making school bags for children in third world countries. "We are simply tracing the patterns of the school bags and cutting them out, so don't worry if you can't sew," said Eliza Brereton, student manager of the Humanitarian Service Organization.
This project came about from LDS Humanitarian Services. They provide resources for what types of service are needed around the world. The Humanitarian Service Organization has a goal of 600 people volunteering that evening. Students are encouraged to bring roommates, spouses and friends.
"Even if you can only volunteer for 10 minutes, please stop by," said Brereton. "Service is a time when you can give back and feel Christ's love. Our goal is for everyone to feel peace."
