"We are not bound by tradition, nor are we limited to our own understanding or to the wisdom of men. In short, this is a very unusual university."

BYU-Idaho community invited to participate in 50 Lap Relay
Brigham Young University-Idaho students, employees, and alumni are invited to kick off Spirit Week and participate in the 50 Lap Relay, held Wednesday, June 6 at 6:30 pm at the BYU-Idaho Stadium.
"The initial intention of this relay was to bring students, faculty, alumni and the community together for a fun and friendly competition," said Val Carpenter, alumni relations coordinator.
This event started in the fall of 2003 and continues to be a success. More than 7,500 people were in attendance at the stadium last fall. Students can participate by signing up through their ward. There will also be two alumni teams competing.
"Even if you don't want to run the relay, the stadium is always full of supporters cheering their team on," said Trent Tustian, student activities advisor. "This event is a great way for wards to unite."
