BYU-Idaho Alumni Association plans tours to Mexico and Alaska in 2008
Alumni of Ricks College and Brigham Young University-Idaho are invited to take part in an alumni tour in 2008. Spaces are currently available for both tours, which will take place in Alaska and Mexico.
"The purpose of these tours is to provide an affordable trip to bring alumni together to explore other parts of the world," said Steve Davis, alumni relations manager. "It's a unique experience to travel with people who have the same values. We will visit places of Church and historical significance, and we have even arranged to attend Church services on Sunday."
The Mexican Mayan Adventure is a 10 day tour from June 6-15, 2008. Guests will visit ancient Mayan ruins in Mexico and Belize, swim in underground cenotes and relax in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The tentative cost of this tour is $1,449 per person, based on double occupancy. The tour fee includes airfare from Salt Lake City to Cancun, Mexico, accommodations, all entrance fees and all breakfasts.
The Alaska Inside Passage Cruise is a seven day cruise from August 8-15, 2008 on Royal Caribbean International's ultra-luxurious ship, "Rhapsody of the Seas." Guests can witness glaciers, endless miles of the Tongass National Forest and visit Canada's only grizzly bear sanctuary. The last day is spent cruising the picturesque Inside Passage.
During the Alaskan cruise, guests and Ballroom Alumni can practice their dance skills with BYU-Idaho Ballroom Dance teachers Shawn and Janie Fisher. Prices start at $1,017 and are per person based on double occupancy and include port taxes of $219, onboard gratuity of $68.25, shipboard accommodations, activities, entertainment and gourmet dining throughout the cruise. Airfare to Seattle must be purchased separately through Destinations, Inc. or independently.
