New chair of BYU-Idaho Music Department named

Kevin Brower, an instructor in the Brigham Young University-Idaho Music Department, has been chosen to serve as the new department chair. The current chair, James Brague, will step down on August 1.

Brower has taught at BYU-Idaho for 15 years and has coordinated the Choral Studies for 10 years.

"My favorite part about serving as the chair of the Department of Music is the wonderful students and the fabulous faculty I have had the pleasure of working with. They are most collegial and a lot of fun to work with," said Brague.

Brague also expressed his confidence in Brower's ability to lead the Music Department.

"Brother Brower will be a fantastic chairman as he is a consummate gentleman, a wonderful thinker and a person who is able to step back and see the whole picture. He has been very active in the department in all areas and not just in vocal. He is highly revered by his colleagues and rightfully so," Brague said.
