Sound Alliance, Brigham Young University-Idaho’s jazz big band, will be presenting its annual Christmas concert on Saturday, December 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirkham Auditorium.

The musical selections for the night will be centered around Christmas, with wonderfully arranged versions of favorite standards. In year’s past visitors such as Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman, the Little Drummer Boy, elves, ballroom dancers, Chewbacca the Wookie and performer Ed Calle from Miami have all made appearances at this event. Many of these special guests are expected to return this year. Audience members will also have the opportunity to receive gifts of candy, bells and other tokens and the chance to participate in the music by playing tambourines and bells.

“Patrons who have attended the concert in the past know that it is a very enjoyable family event,” Dr. Mark Watkins, BYU-Idaho Music Department faculty member, said. “There is no age restriction for this concert.”

Tickets for this event cost $1 for students and $2 for non-students.
