    BYU-Idaho Music Department to present Baroque Ensemble November 11

    The Brigham Young University-Idaho Music Department will present a Baroque Ensemble Friday, November 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Barrus Concert Hall.

    The concert will feature music of English baroque composers Handel and Purcell. Handel is best known for opera and “The Messiah”, but he also composed instrumental music and was an accomplished organist. Guest faculty soloist Daniel Kerr will perform Handel’s organ concerto Opus 4 No. 7. The selection “Water Music” and the Concerto Grosso Opus 3 No. 5., which were written for King George, will be featured. Henry Purcell’s “Fantasy Upon One Note” and “Three Parts Upon a Ground” will also be included in the concert.

    Tickets to the performance will cost $2 for non-students and $1 for students.
