    The University Choir Concert
    to be performed November 4

    Vocal groups from the Brigham Young University-Idaho Music Department will combine to present the University Choir Concert Friday, November 4 in the Barrus Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m.

    These groups include the University Choir, conducted by Randall Kempton, Collegiate Singers, conducted by Kevin Brower, and the Women’s Glee, conducted by Jana Petramalo and Ruth McConkie. The Collegiate Singers will perform a group of spiritual songs. The Women’s Glee will present a mix of choral music, including selections from “Fiddler on the Roof” and arrangements of favorite hymns and folk songs. The University Choir will present excerpts from “Joseph Smith: The Prophet”, an oratorio by Rob Gardner which commemorates the 200th birthday of the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The complete oratorio will be presented by the choir, full orchestra, and soloists in the Rexburg Tabernacle on November 12.

    “There will be something in the concert for everyone. There will be all types of music including spirituals, Broadway, sacred and classical selections,” said Randall Kempton of the BYU-I Music Department faculty.

    Admission to the concert is $2 for non-students and $1 for students. The concert is an FA 100 event.
