    Joseph Smith, the Prophet
    to be performed November 12

    REXBURG, Idaho –
    Writer: Adam Alder

The Brigham Young University-Idaho University Choir, joined by orchestra, soloists, and narrators, will perform Joseph Smith, the Prophet, a sacred presentation commemorating the life of the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Performances will take place Nov. 12 at 6 and
8 p.m. in the Rexburg Tabernacle and will be conducted by the composer, Rob Gardner.

“We are excited to be able to present this concert, and especially grateful to have Rob Gardner conduct his own work,” said Randall Kempton of the BYU-Idaho Department of Music. “It is a dramatic, personal, and thoughtful tribute to the prophet and a fitting addition to the bicentennial celebration this year. We hope that those who come will appreciate on a little more personal level what it might have been like to be involved in the amazing events of the Restoration of the Church.”

Admission to the concert is $4 for non-students and $2 for students. Tickets are available through the BYU-Idaho ticket office or at the door. The concert is an FA 100 choir or band/orchestra event.
