    BYU-Idaho Entrepreneur Conference gives students a chance to learn from successful self-starters

    Brigham Young University-Idaho students interested in becoming entrepreneurs will have a chance to learn from the experts during the Entrepreneur Conference on Thursday, November 3.

    Guest speakers for the Entrepreneur Conference include James R. Maxwell, owner and operator of Agriland Farming Company, Inc., Pacific Gold Marketing, Inc., Growers Fig Company, Inc., Mandera Ag Supply, Inc., and Maxwell Farms; Heidi Nel, founding president of Heidi’s Heavenly Cookies; John Pestana, co-founder and executive vice president of customer success for Omniture; John E. Richards, associate professor at BYU and active entrepreneur; and Carlos Villarreal, president of Java, Inc. and owner of CV Properties.

    “The Entrepreneur Conference is an opportunity for students to hear from business entrepreneurs about how they got started and what they think would benefit the student,” said Grant Magoffin, student and president of the Business Events Management Agency at BYU-Idaho.

    The day’s events begin at 7:30 a.m. with an orientation and breakfast in Taylor 211. A panel discussion with the guest speakers will begin at 8 a.m. in the Taylor Chapel. Presentation sessions with the guest speakers will be held at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. in Taylor 120, Smith 240 and Smith 340. A luncheon hosted by Fenton L. Broadhead, Dean of the College of Business and Communication, will be held in the Manwaring Center Special Events Room 272, beginning at 12:15 p.m. At 2 p.m. the keynote address for the conference will be given by James R. Maxwell in the Taylor Chapel. A question and answer session will follow immediately after this address. A reception will be held in the Manwaring Center Special Events Room 272 at 3:30 p.m. to conclude the conference.
