BYU-Idaho Theatre Department to perform “The Guys”

    REXBURG, Idaho-
    Writer: Adam Alder

The Theatre Department at Brigham Young University-Idaho is set to perform “The Guys”, a production which will begin on October 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Kirkham Arena Theatre.

“The Guys” is a story which reveals the surprising truths people can discover in ordinary lives. Paralyzed by grief and unable to put his thoughts into words, a New York City fire captain seeks out the help of a writer to compose eulogies for the colleagues and friends he lost in the catastrophic events of September 11, 2001.

As they talk about “the guys”, powerful profiles emerge, revealing the substance and meaning that lies beneath the surface of seemingly unremarkable people. This poignant, potent, yet simple play teaches us about ourselves, life and the healing power of human connection. The play is considered more than theatre, but also an engaging document.

“The Guys” will run from October 12-15 and 18-22. All show times will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets will cost $6 for the public and $1 for students.
