    First Presidency to attend inauguration
    of BYU-Idaho President Kim B. Clark

     

    REXBURG, Idaho-
     

    The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be among the distinguished guests attending the inauguration of Brigham Young University-Idaho President Kim B. Clark on Tuesday, October 11.

    President Gordon B. Hinckley will be accompanied by President Thomas S. Monson, first counselor, and President James E. Faust, second counselor. The First Presidency will be joined by the following General Authorities and Church leaders:

    Elders Richard G. Scott, Robert D. Hales, Henry B. Eyring and David A.     Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

    Elder Earl C. Tingey of the Presidency of the Seventy and member of the BYU-Idaho Board of Trustees

    Bonnie D. Parkin, Relief Society General President and member of the BYU-Idaho Board of Trustees

    Susan W. Tanner, Young Women General President and member of the BYU-Idaho Board of Trustees

    Elder W. Rolfe Kerr, Commissioner of the Church Educational System

    Other members of the First Quorum of the Seventy and Church Educational System also will be present at the inauguration.

    President Clark’s appointment was announced June 6 by President Hinckley. Before accepting the invitation to lead BYU-Idaho, President Clark served nearly 30 years on the faculty of the Harvard Business School, including ten years as dean.

    Community members are invited to participate by tuning into KBYI-FM 100.5 for a live broadcast that will include special extended coverage before and after the event.
